Galaxy Book 5 Pro will be launched in South Korea tomorrow

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Book 5 Pro laptop in South Korea tomorrow. The high-end laptop was unveiled three weeks ago and went on pre-order on the same day. Now, it will be available for purchase and reach store shelves starting tomorrow.

Galaxy Book 5 Pro comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro comes in two sizes: 14-inch and 16-inch. The 14-inch variant is priced at KRW 1,768,000 ($1,200), while the 16-inch version is priced at KRW 2,808,000 ($1,908) in South Korea. Both variants come in Grey and Silver colors.

Samsung has reduced the prices of some of the variants of its new laptops compared to its predecessor. The 16-inch version with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is currently priced at KRW 2,458,000. In comparison, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro with similar specifications was priced at KRW 2,640,000. That is a price reduction of KRW 184,000 ($125).

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro features the Intel Core Ultra Processor Series 2 (Lunar Lake) with an integrated NPU that is capable of 47 TOPS of AI inferencing performance. It has a backlit keyboard, a huge multitouch trackpad, a Full HD webcam, and a four-speaker stereo setup.

The 14-inch version of the laptop has a tenkeyless keyboard, while the 16-inch version has a full-sized keyboard. Both laptops have an aluminum unibody design, two Thunderbolt 5 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a 3.5 headphone port, and a microSD card slot.

Samsung has introduced a new feature called AI Select on its new laptop. You can select any text or image on the screen to search for information about it on the internet. With a future update, the laptop will also get Microsoft Copilot+ PC features.

Those who purchase the Galaxy Book 5 Pro through the Galaxy Book Members app by January 16, 2025, will get Microsoft Office Home 2024 for free. The first 50,000 people buying the laptop will get a laptop carrying pouch designed in collaboration with Starbucks for free.
