New update lets you reset Galaxy Chromebook without wiping data

Google has released a new update to ChromeOS devices, and one of the best features that it brings is the ability to reset the Galaxy Chromebook without wiping your apps and personal data.

Galaxy Chromebook can now be reset without wiping your apps and data

The ChromeOS M131 update has been released in stable form for Galaxy Chromebooks and other ChromeOS devices. It brings the ‘Safety Reset' feature that lets you reset your Galaxy Chromebook without wiping your apps or personal data (like app data, bookmarks, files, saved passwords, and more).

Google ChromeOS Safey Reset

You can bring up the Safety Reset feature by pressing the CTRL + Shift + Search + R keyword combo or navigating to Settings » Privacy & Security and finding the Safety Reset feature.

Google ChromeOS Flash Notifications Customization

Another new feature that the ChromeOS M131 update brings is related to accessibility. It offers an additional notification indicator to those who have hearing issues. You can find it by navigating to Settings » Audio and Captions and activating Flash Notifications. You can choose the color of Flash Notifications as per your preference.

Samsung recently released the Galaxy Chromebook Plus with an Intel Core 5 120U CPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. It has a 15.6-inch OLED screen with 400 nits of brightness. It is just 11.8mm thin and weighs 1.17 kg. The $699 device has a full-sized backlit keyboard and a large trackpad and can run for 13 hours on a single charge.
