Circle to Search was among the first Galaxy AI features launched on Samsung phones. Thanks to its speed and accuracy, it is one of the most genuinely useful AI features available right now. Google recently started testing a new feature inside Circle to Search that lets users identify music that's playing on the device or nearby, and it has started rolling out to some Galaxy phones.

Circle to Search's Music Search feature appearing on some Samsung phones

A Galaxy S23 user has posted on Reddit that they have received Circle to Search's Music Search feature on their phone. This feature reportedly arrived with version 15.32.37.28 of the Google app. However, other users running the same app version don't have the new Music Search yet. So, it appears that Google has started server-side activation of Music Search on some phones.

As you can see in the screenshots above, when you activate Circle to Search on your phone, you will soon see a new button with a music note icon. Clicking it will start the music identification process. It works with music being played on the device itself and with music playing near your device. It even works if you sing the song or just hum the tune. Isn't that impressive?

With this feature, users don't have to install third-party music identification apps like Shazam or Soundhound. This isn't the first time Google has released such a feature, though, as it was earlier available as Google Song Search as a part of Google Assistant. However, now that Google Assistant is being replaced with Gemini, Google might have thought of improving it by making it a part of Circle to Search.

A few months ago, Circle to Search received the text translation feature, which is great for translating text on websites, images, and screenshots. A few days ago, Samsung announced that it will soon bring the Circle to Search feature to the Galaxy A35, Galaxy A55, and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE.
