Last month, Samsung unveiled the 43-inch Odyssey Neo G7 gaming monitor. It was first announced for the South Korean market, and a few days later, its launch was announced for Taiwan. The South Korean firm has now announced its availability for global markets. The company said that the monitor would be available in most important countries before the end of Q1 2023.

The 43-inch version of the Odyssey Neo G7 is Samsung's first Mini-LED gaming monitor with a flat-screen display. It has a 43-inch Mini-LED VA display with 4K resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, HDR10+, and VESA Display HDR600 certification. Thanks to its densely packed Mini-LED backlight sources, it features impressive local dimming and sustained high brightness of up to 600 nits. Samsung has also used a matte coating on the monitor's screen to reduce light reflections.

Since it is a gaming monitor, the 43-inch Odyssey Neo G7 is bound to have a high-refresh-rate display. It uses a 144Hz panel with a 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. The monitor also features two 20W loudspeakers. It has one DisplayPort 1.4 port, two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2. It has a VESA 200×200 mount and RGB lighting on the rear.

The monitor runs Tizen, which is a unique selling point. No other gaming monitors from other brands have a full-fledged operating system; this is where Samsung has a huge advantage. It has support for all popular music and video streaming apps. It also features Samsung Game Bar, Flex Move Screen, Game Picture Mode, and Samsung Gaming Hub. Game Bar displays more information about a game, including its frame rate, input lag, HDR and VRR modes, aspect ratio, and audio output settings. Samsung Gaming Hub brings cloud game streaming services, including Amazon Luna, Microsoft Xbox Cloud, and Nvidia GeForce Now.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 Gaming Monitor White Back

Hoon Chung, Executive VP of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “The gaming monitor market is only going to get bigger, and gamers are now seeking more out of their monitors. We are not just delivering better gaming experience — we are rebuilding new smart capabilities into our screens that give gamers an all-in-one place for technology and entertainment. Our innovations are enabling gamers everywhere to stay absorbed in their games with visual performance that enhances the intense emotional experiences.
