It's been a couple of months since the original Galaxy Fold received an update, and Samsung's decided it's time for another. The Galaxy Fold, released in 2019, is now getting the August 2023 update in a handful of markets.

If you own a Galaxy Fold, you know that the device is no longer getting major firmware updates. The August release is a routine security patch, but it certainly is better than nothing.

Story continues after the video

Samsung is still supporting its first commercial foldable Galaxy device these many years after its release, even though it sold in low quantities and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is now available for purchase. Here's where you can get the August 2023 security patch for the Galaxy Fold as of this writing:

  • Model number SM-F9000 is getting the August update in Hong Kong. The firmware number is F9000ZJS7HWG1.
  • The Galaxy Fold 5G with model number SM-F900F is getting the update in France through firmware number F900FXXS7HWG1.
  • Model number SM-F907B is getting the update in the UK. It can be identified by firmware number F907BXXS7HWG1.
  • In Korea, the Galaxy Fold (SM-F907B) got the August 2023 update through firmware version F907NKOU3IWH1.
