Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 series in 2019. After rolling out three new versions of Android and security updates for four years to the three devices in the lineup as promised, the company stopped releasing regular software updates to them in April 2023. The last regular update brought the March 2023 security patch.

After that, Samsung has been releasing only the essential updates to the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e. In July 2023, the company rolled out one such update. It improved the security of the three phones. A couple of days ago, the brand released another update, which brought a new version of the kernel to the three devices.

Well, Samsung is now rolling out another such software update to the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e. From what we could gather, the brand has released this one for the carrier-locked variants of the three phones for the United States, which carry model numbers SM-G973U, SM-G975U, and SM-G970U respectively, on Verizon.

Galaxy S10, S10+ get April 2023 security update

According to Verizon, the latest software update for the Galaxy S10 and S10+ brings the April 2023 security patch to these devices, which is more than a year old now, and fixes 46 security issues. Before that, the two phones were running the March 2023 security patch.

As for the new update for the Galaxy S10e, it doesn’t seem to bring any significant change as the new firmware still packs the March 2023 security patch as the older one. Verizon says that this update “provides the most recent security certificate for your device.

With the new update, the firmware versions of the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e changes to G973USQU9IXE1, G975USQU9IXE1, and G970USQU9IXE1 respectively. To get the latest software update, navigate to Settings » Software updates » Download and install.
