Samsung didn't talk about it, but the new Galaxy S25 series phones are compatible with Qi2 Ready accessories. It means they support 15W wireless charging and magnetic alignment when used with certain cases. The company has started selling a few Qi2 Ready accessories for its new phones.

Official Qi2 Ready accessories for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra

Samsung Magnetic 3-In-1 Wireless Charger Galaxy S25 Qi2 Ready

The company has listed a total of six first-party Qi2 Ready accessories for the Galaxy S25 series on its USA website. Those include cases and wireless chargers. The 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is priced at $129.99, and it can charge the Galaxy S25 (at 15W), a Galaxy Watch, and Galaxy Buds/Galaxy Ring.

The names of those accessories are listed below.

  • Transparent Clear Magnet Case For Galaxy S25
  • Transparent Clear Magnet Case For Galaxy S25+
  • Transparent Clear Magnet Case For Galaxy S25 Ultra
  • 3-in-1 Wireless Charger (GP-PWU024WIA / GP-PWU024WIABW)
  • Magnetic Car Mount Wireless Charger (GP-PWU024WIC / GP-PWU024WICBW)
  • Magnetic Single Pad Wireless Charger (GP-PWU024WIB / GP-PWU024WIBBW)

Look at the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ in action in our video below.

All these accessories have magnets built in for proper alignment with the phone. Qi2 certification requires built-in magnets for Magnetic Power Profile (MPP). However, the Galaxy S25 series phones don't have built-in magnets. Instead, they rely on cases that have those magnets built in. Hence, they are just ‘Qi2 Ready' with the help of the accessories listed above.

The story continues after our Galaxy S25 Ultra hands-on video.

Casetify, Dbrand, ESR, Otterbox, Ringke, Rokform, Otterbox, UAG, and other third-party accessory makers have already unveiled several Qi2 Ready cases and accessories (such as wallet attachments) for the Galaxy S25 series. You can check out those accessories from their respective websites or online stores.

Click the button below to pre-order your Galaxy S25 phone and get a free storage upgrade, $50 store credit, and several other benefits.

Samsung just unveiled three new high-end phones. While the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the most capable of them, the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ bring a lot to the table, even though they are not that different from their predecessors hardware-wise. Let us have a look at their best features.

1. Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy makes everything faster, better

Most of the improvements in the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ come with the help of the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor. It is a massive improvement over the Exynos 2400 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chip used in the Galaxy S24.

The 3nm chip has a 37% faster CPU, a 30% more powerful GPU, and a 40% better NPU. It allows the phone to be faster, play games smoother, and capture better memories. Thanks to the NPU, Galaxy AI features work faster and better.

Its processor also brings improved wireless connectivity in the form of Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7.

2. Improved Galaxy AI features

Samsung improved what it started with the Galaxy S24. Several Galaxy AI features can now work on the device, offering faster results. And all your data stays on the device, which is great if you are worried about privacy.

The Circle to Search feature can now recognize phone numbers, URLs, and email addresses on the screen. So, Circle to Search can now offer saving a number, visiting a webpage, or sending an email to the address you found somewhere.

3. Now Brief

The Now Brief offers personalized, actionable suggestions based on your usage patterns. It takes information from Samsung Calendar, Samsung Health, SmartThings, and other stock apps.

It can offer things like your Energy Score, Sleep Score, and weather forecast when you wake up. When you are on your way to work, it can offer directions to your workplace and a music playlist for the commute. In the evening, it can display memories (images and videos) you captured that day and your step count.

Those suggestions appear on the Now Bar on the lock screen and the Now Brief widget on the home screen.

4. Seven major Android OS updates

High-end phones should last long, and Samsung is ready to support its new phones for a long time. The company has promised to offer seven major Android OS updates and security updates for seven years.

The Galaxy S25 series comes preloaded with Android 15 (One UI 7.0), and it will get updated to Android 22.

5. Quicker access To Gemini

The Galaxy S25 is the first Samsung phone that lets you summon Google's Gemini AI using the power button on the right. You can hold the button to quickly access Gemini.

6. Improved Camera quality

While Samsung hasn't upgraded the camera hardware on the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+, the new chip offers improved camera quality, thanks to the new chip and new algorithms.

The new ProVisual Engine offers more details on all zoom ranges and in all lighting conditions. The phones also record videos in 10-bit HDR by default, offering more dynamic range and deeper colors than earlier.

Videos captured in low-light conditions are clearer, too, thanks to lower noise, wider dynamic range, and better colors.

The Galaxy S25 series now analyzes movement to detect moving and static objects. Those two things are processed differently. This allows sharper images and cleaner footage.

The phones can also record videos in Galaxy Log format. Those videos have a flatter color profile, and you can tune the colors as per your preferences in the built-in video editor. The Virtual Aperture feature lets you adjust the separation between the foreground and the background.

Samsung has improved Portrait Studio, allowing you to create personalized avatars with more true-to-life facial expressions. The company has also added a new feature called Flters. They offer analog (film) like aesthetics for photos and videos. Audio Eraser lets you remove unwanted noises or sounds from videos.

Security and privacy have become greater concerns in the era of AI and interconnected device ecosystems. The new Galaxy S25 employs a wide range of security features and is Samsung's first phone series to introduce post-quantum cryptography against even the most dangerous quantum-based cyber attacks.

Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Galaxy S25 series is powerful enough to process most of its Galaxy AI features on the device without accessing or sending personal information to any servers.

Features like Now Brief rely on the Personal Data Engine to analyze data on-device and deliver personalized experiences. However, this personal data has to be stored safely on the Galaxy S25 and kept private.

For Galaxy S25 users, personalized AI data is securely locked behind Knox Vault, which now has a new future-proof security layer, i.e., post-quantum cryptography.

In essence, post-quantum cryptography, or PQC (via Wikipedia), consists of cryptographic algorithms that should be secure against cryptanalytic attacks performed by a quantum computer.

The story continues after our Galaxy S25 Ultra hands-on video

The Personal Data Engine gathers data for personalized AI experiences only from native Samsung apps and recognizes many languages and dialects, including but not limited to the following:

  • Arabic, (Simplified) Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Furthermore, the Personal Data Engine itself is customizable and only functions under the parameters set by users through the Personal Data Intelligence menu on the Galaxy S25. If this feature is turned off, all the analyzed user data is deleted instantaneously from Knox Vault.

Samsung also provides better security for Galaxy S25 users through a new Knox Matrix dashboard, additional Maximum Restriction settings, and enhanced Theft Protection.

The Galaxy S25 series is now available for pre-order, and Samsung offers different early adopter bonuses depending on the market. Hit the pre-order button below for more details.

Samsung used Qualcomm's flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy, in all its Galaxy S25 series phones globally. So, people don't have to deal with Exynos this year. Qualcomm worked with Samsung to bring exclusive features and optimizations to Galaxy S25 series devices, including satellite messaging.

Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy brings satellite messaging to Galaxy S25

Qualcomm has revealed that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are the first commercially available devices to feature Snapdragon Satellite. It is Qualcomm's system that allows a phone to connect directly to low-earth orbit satellites (via narrowband NTN) to send and receive messages.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus Ultra Qualcomm Snapdrago 8 Elite For Galaxy Processor

This feature is built into Android but requires specific hardware to work. The Galaxy S25 series has the necessary hardware and software to send and receive messages directly via satellites. This feature can be extremely useful and even lifesaving in certain emergency situations when there is no cellular network nearby.

Samsung didn't highlight this feature during its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 keynote, and we don't know the reason behind it. Maybe the company is still working to get this feature working via partnerships with satellite companies and getting clearance for the feature from governments worldwide.

Snapdragon Satellite was a part of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, but no smartphone brand used that feature because back then, Android didn't support that feature natively. So, Qualcomm dropped the feature abruptly. However, Android 15 natively supports satellite messaging. Apple has been equipping its iPhones with a similar feature since the iPhone 14.

You can watch our experience of using the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ in the video below.

What is unique about Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor?

The Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy has slightly higher CPU and GPU clock speeds. It results in a 37% faster CPU, 30% faster GPU, and a 40% faster NPU compared to the chips used in Galaxy S24 series phones. The chip is fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process node, so it is more power efficient than previous-generation chips.

Qualcomm worked with Samsung to implement a ProScaler, which can achieve a 40% improvement in display image scaling quality, into the chip. It also embedded Samsung's mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) in this Snapdragon chip's ISP display signal processor (DSP) to improve display efficiency.

The companies also collaborated to implement Samsung's image processing technologies into the Snapdragon chip's ISP for improved image and video capture.

The powerful NPU inside the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy allows a lot of Galaxy AI features to work locally on the device. You can read more about the new Galaxy AI features in this article.

Samsung's Unpacked event in San Jose brought us a couple of interesting surprise in addition to the new Galaxy S25 series. The company confirmed the Galaxy S25 Edge, previously known as the Galaxy S25 Slim, a fourth variant in the new lineup that will be launched later this year.

While the company didn't talk about this unique device, only mentioning it in passing as “multi-fold”, it did put up a confirmation on the big screen when referring to its plans for the future. There it was, an image that made it clear as day that Samsung has a tri-folding Galaxy smartphone in the pipeline.

Get ready for a tri-folding Galaxy foldable

The reference to the tri-folding phone was made as the company spoke about its XR plans, including the new headset codenamed Project Moohan that it's been building with Google and Qualcomm. Samsung has also revealed its plan to develop smart glasses.

There have been many rumors that Samsung is going to expand its foldable lineup with a tri-folding phone. It was inevitable after Huawei brought one to the market. Recent rumors have suggested that we may see this device being launched as early as this year, alongside the expected refresh for the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices.

Samsung didn't provide any additional details about this tri-folding phone, but if rumors are believed, it may be launched in Q3 2025. The device's tri-folding display could measure between 9.9 to 10-inches when unfolded, bringing it squarely into tablet territory.

Foldable fans certainly have much to be excited about this year. Hopefully, Samsung will reveal more details about this device in the near future.

Last year was all about AI, and that seems to be the theme this year as well. So, in line with the trend, Samsung has brought new and improved Galaxy AI features with the Galaxy S25 series. You can read about the best Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S25 series in this article.

Those features include Audio Eraser, Now Brief, and improved Circle to Search.

Best Galaxy S25 AI features

Most of the Galaxy AI features that were introduced with the Galaxy S24 series can now work locally on the Galaxy S25 series, thanks to the massively improved chip: Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy. It is a 3nm chip with a 37% faster CPU, 30% more powerful GPU, and 40% speedier NPU.

1. Audio Eraser

The Audio Eraser can identify up to six kinds of audio/noise from videos. You can then increase the volume of the things that are important to you (like people's voices) and reduce unwanted audio (like background noise and wind). All these changes can be done in the phone's built-in video editor.

2. Drawing Assist

The Drawing Assist feature, which debuted with the Galaxy S24 series (One UI 6.1.1), now has a new UI. It also has two new generative drawing styles. All six styles are listed below:

  1. Illustration
  2. Ink And Wash
  3. Pop Art
  4. Sketch
  5. Watercolour
  6. 3D Cartoon

You can ask Galaxy AI to generate an image based on your text input or give it an image for reference so that it can draw inspiration from its style.

3. Improved Circle to Search

The new version of Google's Circle to Search feature, which is debuting on the Galaxy S25, can detect email addresses, phone numbers, and webpage addresses on the screen and offer suggestions based on its findings.

For example, you can draw a circle around a flyer in the Gallery, and Circle to Search will offer a suggested action, such as calling the phone number or visiting a webpage it finds in the image.

4. On-device Generative Edit

Generative Edit, a feature that uses Generative AI to help you edit images (removing, resizing, or replacing objects), can now work without an internet connection. This is possible with the help of the faster Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor.

When AI processing happens locally on the device, it works faster and is more reliable.

5. Now Brief

The Now Brief feature displays relevant information based on the time of the day.

For example, when you wake up in the morning, it can display your Sleep Score, Energy Score, and weather forecast.
