Samsung has launched the TVKey Cloud feature for its TVs. It is an industry-first solution that lets you watch live TV without a dedicated set-top box. This technology was developed in collaboration with NAGRAVISION to declutter a TV setup and eliminate the need for set-top boxes.

Using the TVKey Cloud feature, users can access live TV channels and on-demand content on their Samsung TVs. This feature is available on Samsung's Ultra HD, QLED, Neo QLED, and OLED TVs, which were launched in 2023 and 2024.

It is currently compatible with two TV service providers in India: Dish TV and GTPL. Your TV needs internet connectivity to authenticate signals received by a cable or DTH antenna.

This feature lets users access over-the-air channels, hybrid broadcast OTT, and OTT-only services. Samsung is using unique on-chip security to ensure a high level of content protection.

Dish TV and GTPL offers for Samsung's TVKey Cloud feature

Dish TV's existing users can activate TVKey Cloud on their Samsung TV and get one month of DTH subscription and one month of Watcho subscription (which includes access to content from 16 OTT apps) at no extra cost. This results in potential savings of up to INR 2,800 ($33).

GTPL is offering one month of TV access for free when a user activates their TV service and pays for one month. The company is also providing access to cloud game streaming provider BlackNut for 15 days and the GTPL Buzz app (live TV app) until the subscription is active.

That results in savings of up to INR 2,750 ($32). Users also get a free Wi-Fi router and broadband installation. When they pay for 6 or 12 months, they get one or two months of access to the broadband service for free.
