Galaxy S25 Slim could launch in only these 39 countries

Introduction

In 2025, Samsung will continue its tradition of launching a new Galaxy S flagship lineup at the beginning of each year with the Galaxy S25 series. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in the first two months of 2025, with a base model called the Galaxy S25.

As of June 7, 2024, details on the Galaxy S25 series are scarce. But based on how Samsung does things, we can expect the  company to focus more on refinement than major upgrades with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Specifications

The smallest Galaxy S flagship models usually get the fewest hardware upgrades, and it will likely be a similar story for the Galaxy S25. We can expect it to be powered by an Exynos chip in most markets and a Snapdragon chip in the US, Canada, China, and Japan.

Samsung fans around the world prefer having a Snapdragon chip on their Galaxy flagships, but even if the company feels like giving fans what it wants, the rumored price increase for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the successor to this year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, may force it to continue using its in-house chips.

That may not be a bad thing, as Samsung's next flagship Exynos chip could end up being more efficient than the equivalent Snapdragon chip, which isn't something that happens often. However, performance, especially when gaming, might continue to be a bigger strength on the Snapdragon variants.

Software and features

The Galaxy S25 series will come with Android 15 and One UI 7.1 out of the box if Samsung sticks to the usual way of doing things. Samsung will likely focus on new AI tricks as far as new software features are concerned, and we can also expect to see some new tricks in the camera app.

Like the Galaxy S24 lineup, the Galaxy S25 series will be eligible for at least seven years of OS and security updates.

Availability and price

The Galaxy S25 series can be expected to go official in January or February of 2025. The standard Galaxy S25 will probably be priced at $799 in the USA.
