The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, which were announced today, are the first to run the stable version of One UI 7.0. While we've already seen it running on the Galaxy S24, some One UI 7.0  features are currently available only on the Galaxy S25 series.

Let us have a look at those new features.

New One UI 7.0 features on Galaxy S25

You can find the differences between One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy S24 and One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy S25 in our in-depth video below.

Now Brief

The Now Brief feature integrates with stock Google and Samsung apps to bring information relevant to you as per the time of the day (morning, afternoon, or evening).

For example, it can collect your health and wellness information, such as Energy Score and sleep quality, and display it, along with the day's weather forecast, when you wake up.

When it's time for you to travel to your workplace, it displays your events and tasks from the Calendar app, news articles from Samsung News, navigation/transit information for your commute, and suggests playlists for your commute.

In the evening, it can display memories (images or videos you captured) from the day and even smart home actions (such as turning on the AC) right before you reach home. It can even suggest you adjust certain phone settings (like turning on the Do Not Disturb mode) before you sleep.

New quick setting toggles

In One UI 7.0 running on the Galaxy S25 series, there are two new quick setting toggles: Nearby Devices and Modes.

Nearby Devices brings you a new UI where you can find nearby devices. You can drag one of the names of nearby devices and drop it on your device's name to see what features you can access and what data you can share.

The Modes toggle lets you switch from one Mode to another or turn on or off any Mode.

Morning Brief widget

The Morning Brief widget opens up the Daily Briefing feature and displays the information relevant to your morning. It includes your Energy Score, Sleep Score, and weather information.

More Live Notifications

One UI 7.0 running on the Galaxy S25 series has more Live Notifications than One UI 7.0 running on the Galaxy S24 series.

It has Live Notifications for Bixby, Clock, Emergency Sharing, Google Sports, Interpreter, Maps, Samsung Health, Samsung Notes, and Voice Recorder. Thanks to its partnership with Google, Samsung can display live sports scores via Live Notifications on the Galaxy S25's lock screen.

Improved Galaxy AI

Galaxy AI has been improved on the Galaxy S25, thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. Its powerful NPU now allows many Galaxy AI features to run on the device. So, you don't need an active internet connection for many features.

Composer and Style And Grammar now have their own sub-menus in Galaxy AI settings.

Browsing Assist

Browsing Assist now has a new option: Read Highlights Aloud. When you access this feature while browsing webpages or news articles using Samsung Internet, it summarizes the article and reads it aloud, which is great for when you are too busy to read an article. You can play/pause while it is reading and increase or decrease the speed of the vocals. It can also translate one language to another.

Writing Assist

Writing Assist has been split into Chat Assist and Writing Assist. Writing Assist has a new UI and you can access it anywhere you can type text. It also offers Bullet Points and Table formats. Chat Assist offers several language improvement and tone-changing tools.

Sketch to Image

The Sketch to Image feature, which turns rough sketches into sophisticated drawings and illustrations (using Generative AI), now offers just one image. If you don't like it, you can ask to make another. Earlier, it readily offered four different images.

Photo Assist

The Photo Assist feature can now work entirely on the device. You can use a new slider to set how accurate you need it to be. If you set it to low accuracy, it will turn even ugly drawings into good-looking images. If you set it to high accuracy, it tries to create images as close to your drawing as possible. So, if your drawing is terrible, the generated images could also look bad.

Drawing Assist

The Drawing Assist feature now has a new design. It has six preset drawing styles:

  1. Illustration
  2. Ink And Wash
  3. Pop Art
  4. Sketch
  5. Watercolour
  6. 3D Cartoon

You can even pick an image from your phone's gallery, and it will take inspiration from it to create a new image. You can also use text to describe an image you want your phone to make.

Audio Eraser

The Audio Eraser could be great for creators and general users alike. It can detect up to six types of audio—Music, Noise, Pets, Voices, and Wind—in videos. You can then choose the ones you would like to keep and the ones you would like to erase. This feature can work entirely on the device.
